What is ‘Co-op Equity and Cash Back’?

  • Earnings from the co-op are distributed to members based on their purchases during the year.
  • Earnings are returned to members either as equity or cash, depending on each co-op’s financial situation.
  • The cash portion is paid out to you each year.
  • The equity portion is your money that is being held back by the co-op to help finance the business, and maintain and upgrade assets to ensure ongoing success.

  1. Hi Jason: I am a new member when they opened the Cranbrook Coop gas station so I am wondering how do we get our checks and know how much equity I have in the company? I see when the checks are done.

    1. Hi Delbert,

We will be doing a cheque hand out day at the Cranbrook gas bar on Sunday April 28th. Anyone who does not pick up their cheque will receive it in the mail early May. Once you receive your cheque there will be an attachment showing your equity. Feel free to email me jason.k@armstrong.coop if I can be of further assistance. Thanks Delbert.

Coop has been so good to all there customers i love shopping there for many many years. I waited 10 years to turn 70 .I can’t wait finally to get all my equity which I was told you have to turn 70 .your staff is awesome and friendly. They are always there to walk that extra mile

    1. Hi Joyce,

Thank you for your kind comment. It’s always nice to hear compliments and we will make sure to pass it along to our staff. Regarding your equity if you above the age of 65 you can apply to get your equity out. You can find the form under the documents tab of this website.

      Thanks again,
      Jason
